Quirky dollars?

QUIRK MAKES CHANGE FOR A TEN:

Kerry Mills is hosting a special dollar-making party at Quirk this Saturday and she is inviting all of you (and your children) to not only enjoy the art at Quirk but to make your own piece of art as well.
THIS SATURDAY @ QUIRK, 311 West Broad Street, 1-3:30pm

We will have templates and art supplies to get you started. Your creation/contribution will help ART 180 to give young people in challenging circumstances a voice through art. And for each creation (and $10 donation) you submit, Quirk will give you a coupon for 10% off your next Quirk purchase and enter you in a drawing to win a special Quirk gift!

All of the "dollars" will be exhibited at a free, unique art celebration on 10-10-08 at VCU's Brandcenter (103 S. Jefferson), 7pm so SAVE THE DATE!

If you can't join us Saturday, we still encourage you to participate. Download the template at www.art180.org/ten and send it to ART 180 (or drop off at Quirk) by 9/22

Calling designers, writers, account reps, strategists...

Feeling competitive? We have created a special contest for communications professionals (graphic designers, copywriters, art directors, but not just the creatives.... account reps, strategists, planners, etc, as well).

Go to www.art180.org/ten for details. All you have to do is write jelly on the back of your submission and send it in by 9/15 and we will have it judged by Jelly Helm of Weiden & Kennedy! There is also a reward for the agency that brings in the most!

Change for a Ten is a community art project about communication and we need communications professionals to really push the envelope, to get people thinking and to get new messages out there? Help us spread the word. And remember this deadline is a week earlier which means we need these 10spots by MONDAY! (you can submit online www.art180.org/ten or drop it off at our offices in Plant Zero -- Studio #1 -- 0 East 4th St.)

400 and counting

We have crossed the 400 mark. That's right we have collected 400 ten spots for our Change for a Ten campaign so far. We are still hoping for more (a lot more!) so please send in yours! And encourage your friends/family/colleagues to do the same. Show the community what you'd change. Show the children that you care.

You can now submit online -- www.art180.org/ten
or drop off at ART 180's new offices in Studio 1 at Plant Zero (0 East 4th #1, Richmond, VA 23224 ... we are checking the mailbox everyday hoping to find yours in it)

We are collecting "dollars" through 9/22 and will be exhibiting them all on 10-10-08 at VCU's Brandcenter (103 S. Jefferson), 7pm. It's free, kid friendly and will be quite the event so go on and mark your calendar....
